It’s January 6th; technically 6 days into my new health regimen. I’m actually succeeding….somewhat. I don’t think chubby girls should diet, to be honest. In the old days, having a little meat on your bones was a go
od thing. As a matter of fact, it meant you were wealthy, beautiful, and fabulous. All of a sudden, people are telling me that my curves make me lazy, unattractive, and not worth anyone’s time?! Please. Here’s the best part of it- I work out and eat healthier than most skinny ninnies, I know. If anything, I’m a fault of robust genetics. And I love it!
Today, I’m going to work on the strictness of my purpose. I know a guy who is dieting too, except, he’s perfect. And his diet consists of chicken and rice. I know, it’s ridiculous, I’d *starve*. I’m starving just thinking about it! I don’t care what anyone says, you need substance in your meals. Protein, carbs, fat, sugar…biologically that’s what we’re made of anyway– so how does it make sense for someone to tell me I need to cut back on the very fabrics that fuel my human form? Pleeeaaassee.
So far today, I’ve consumed Banana Nut cereal with whole milk, a Coffee Coolata with skim milk, and a cup of ice water. It’s pretty ridiculous. But if you can believe it, at over 5′7″ and more pounds than you’d believe, I look amazing! I would so date myself.
The best thing you can get out of eating healthy (especially if you’re not used to it, like me), is the way it makes you feel. My skin glows, my hair is gorgeous, and I just feel lighter on my feet! Take that Burger King (which I went to yesterday and grabb
ed a cheeseburger…*shh!*).
Even if you can’t give up the eating out, here’s a tip that I’ve found that helps me. I’m addicted to fast food, less now than I used to be, but it’s pathetic. When I find myself dying to suppress my guilt with a Whopper Value Meal, I’ll get a cheeseburger and a side salad. Try to make a balance or a trade off when it comes to ordering your meals. If you’re going to get a burger, or an otherwise unhealthy sandwich, instead of getting fries to make it a meal, get a side salad. Replace that soda, frosty, or milkshake with a yummy cup of ice water. If that’s not sweet enough, get iced tea. Trust me! I did this over the summer, partnered with daily exercise and I lost 23lbs in the first month alone!

The results won’t be over night (I know-it sucks), but the point is to get your body used to making healthy alternatives. If you work out like crazy, but still find yourself pigging out, it’s not going to do you any good anyway. It’ll probably do you worse, because here you spend hours at the gym, to go home…eat more than you burned, and wake up 3 lbs heavier anyway.
I’m aiming to cut my caloric intake down to about 1,400 calories a day. I probably will hate it at first, but I already go to the gym 4+ days a week, for about 45 minutes – 1 hour each time. I think I owe it to myself.
OH! And by the way, fashion items of the day are:
Maybelline’s Colossal Volum’ ExpressTM Mascara

This mascara is fabulous. I have round eyes with a very round face and puffy cheeks to make things worse, and this mascara, let me tell you. It works wonders! I have long, curly, gorgeous eyelashes so I’m always looking for product that’s going to accentuate my best features (my eyes). This is it, ladies! It comes infused with collagen too, which gives your lashes extra oomph! AND it smells (yes, smells!) amazing. I suggest everyone give it a try, it’s about $6 – $9 bucks depending on where you buy it, but it’s totally worth it.
